Greek Gyros Pizza

Yield: 1 large pizza


  • 1 lb. pizza dough
  • 1 cup hummus
  • 1/2 lb. mozzarella, shredded
  • 1/2 lb. gyro meat
  • 1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, quartered
  • Tzatziki sauce


  1. If using a pizza stone, warm it in the oven @ 500°F.
  2. Roll the pizza dough into a 14-inch circle.
  3. Sprinkle some cornmeal on the hot stone.  Transfer the dough onto the stone and back for 7 minutes.  Remove from the oven.
  4. Spread the hummus over the crust.  Sprinkle with the mozzarella and gyros meat.  Return to the oven and bake 7-8 minutes longer.  The cheese should be fully melted.
  5. Remove the pizza from the oven.  Top with feta cheese.
  6. Return to the oven, baking for 1-3 minutes until the pizza is browned.
  7. Remove the pizza from the oven.  Top with red onions and tomatoes.
  8. Serve hot with tzatziki sauce.
