Biscuits & Gravy

Yield: 6 servings


  • 1 package (12 oz.) ground sausage
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Buttermilk biscuits
If you really wanna get crazy, add 2-3 tbsp maple syrup to the gravy!


  1. Brown the sausage in a large skillet.  Remove the cooked sausage using a slotted spoon, leaving the drippings in the pan.  Set the sausage aside.
  2. Add the butter to the dripping & melt over medium-low heat.  Add the flour and whisk together to make a roux.
  3. Add the milk, salt, and pepper.  Raise to medium heat and simmer until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add the sausage back into the gravy and stir together.
  5. Cut the warm buttermilk biscuits in half.  Spoon gravy over the biscuits and serve hot.
