Maple & Bacon Glazed Brussels Sprouts

Yield: 4 servings


  • 5 strips bacon
  • 1 lb. fresh brussels sprouts, trimmed and cut in half
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper


  1. Cook the bacon until crispy.  Remove to a plate lined with paper towel.  Break into small pieces.
  2. Score an 'X' into the core of each Brussels sprout.  Saute the sprouts in the butter for 4-5 minutes until lightly browned.
  3. Stir in the remaining ingredients.  Lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Uncover and cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Transfer the sprouts to a serving dish.  Sprinkle with bacon and serve immediately.
