Beef Bulgogi Pizza

Yield: 3 medium pizzas

Ingredients

  • Marinade
    • 6 tbsp soy sauce
    • 3 tbsp brown sugar
    • 2 tbsp rice wine
    • 1 asian pear
    • 1/2 onion
    • 1 tbsp minced garlic
    • 1 tsp minced ginger
    • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 3/4 lb. NY strip stake, sliced thinly
  • Pizza Sauce
    • 4 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
    • 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp soy sauce
    • 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp water
    • 4 1/2 tbsp rice wine
    • 2 1/4 tsp oyster sauce
    • 1 1/8 tsp minced garlic
    • 1 1/8 tsp sesame oil
    • 3 tbsp corn starch
    • 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp water
  • 3 prepared pizza crusts
  • Toppings
    • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
    • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
    • 1/2 cup corn
    • 1 green pepper, diced
    • 3 green onions, sliced

Directions

  1. Combine all the marinade ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth.
  2. Pour the marinade over the beef and mix together.  Cover and store in the refrigerator for at least four hours.
  3. Heat a cast iron skillet with oil over medium-high heat.  Add the marinated beef and fry until cooked through, about 3-5 minutes.  Remove from the heat.
  4. For the pizza sauce, combine the first seven ingredients in a shallow frying pan.  Mix together while heating to a gentle simmer.
  5. While the sauce is warming, combine the corn starch and water in a separate bowl.  Make sure it thoroughly mixed with no lumps.
  6. When the sauce is simmering, add the corn starch mixture, stirring constantly until it thickens.  Remove from the heat.
  7. To assemble the pizza, spread the sauce over the pizza crust.  Top mozzarella cheese, beef, red onion, corn, green pepper, and green onions.
  8. Bake at 400°F for 10-15 minutes.  Serve hot.
