Homemade Pear Jam

Yield: 5 cups


  • 8 medium pears, peeled and quartered
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 1 can (20 oz.) crushed pineapple, drained


  1. Place the pears in a food processor and pulse until finely chopped.
  2. In a large pot, combine the pears and sugar.  Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer uncovered for 40 minutes.
  3. Add in the drained crushed pineapple, and continue simmering for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Ladle into sterilized jars.  Screw on sterilized lids.
  5. Enjoy on top of biscuits or toast.
