Korean Grilled Chicken Sandwich

Yield: 4 servings


  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Coarse salt
  • 3 tbsp gochujang sauce
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tsp rice vinegar
  • 3 tbsp sesame seeds, crushed with a mortar & pestle
  • 4 sesame buns
  • Romaine lettuce
  • 1 Asian pear, sliced into strips


  1. Pound the chicken to 1/2-inch thickness.  Rub with the oil & sprinkle with salt, and then grill over medium heat until done, about 3-5 minutes per side.
  2. While the chicken is grilling, combine the gochujang sauce, mayonnaise, sesame oil, vinegar, and sesame seeds.  Spread the sauce on both top and bottom of each bun.
  3. When the chicken is done grilling, place each breast onto a bun.  Top with lettuce and Asian pear slices.  Serve hot.
