Wild Bear Chili

Very similar to beef, but the bear gives a slightly distinctive flavor.

Yield: 12 servings


Ingredients


  • 1 3/4 lbs. bear meat, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 can (28 oz) petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 1 large red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 large banana pepper, diced
  • 1 white onion, diced
  • 4 cans beans (15 oz. each)
  • 1 cup frozen corn
  • Spices
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 1/2 tsp cocoa powder
    • 2 tbsp chili powder
    • 1 tsp crushed red pepper
    • 1 1/2 tsp cumin
    • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
    • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions


  1. Add all ingredients to a slow cooker.  Mix well.
  2. Cook on low heat for 4-6 hours until completely cooked.
  3. Serve hot.
