Pulled Pork

Pulled pork may be the king of sandwiches, with it's juicy, tender goodness.  Smother on some tangy BBQ sauce for maximum flavor.

Yield: 15 servings


Ingredients


  • 1 bottle (12 oz.) beer
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped
  • 4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salk
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 tsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp Tabasco sauce
  • 2 large potatoes, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 pork shoulder roast, 4.5 - 5.0 lbs
  • Hamburger buns
  • BBQ sauce

Directions


  1. In a 5-quart slow cooker, combine the first 16 ingredients.  Place the pork roast on top.
  2. Cook over low heat for 4-6 hours until completely cooked.
  3. Remove the pork and shred.  Mix back into the other ingredients.
  4. Serve on hamburger buns with BBQ sauce.
