Mixed Spice Burgers

Don't be dissuaded by the odd mixture of spices in these patties because they are surprising tasty.

Yield: 12 Burgers


Ingredients


  • 4 tbsp fresh mint, minced
  • 5 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground pork
  • 1 egg
  • Sliced cheese, if desired
  • 12 hamburger buns

Directions


  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the first 12 ingredients.  Form into 12 burger patties.
  2. Cook the burgers on the grill over medium-low heat, flipping once.
  3. If desired, place a slice of cheese on each burger for the last 2 minutes of cooking so that it melts.
  4. Serve on buns.  Top with your favorite condiments.
