Chocolate Marshmallow Bars

Better than just plain rice krispie squares, these add in cake, chocolate, & peanut butter.


Ingredients


  • 3/4 cup buttter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/3 cup flour
  • 3 tbsp baking cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 cups miniature marshmallows
  • Topping
    • 1 1/3 cups chocolate chips
    • 1 cup peanut butter
    • 3 tbsp butter
    • 2 cups rice krispies

Directions


  1. Cream butter & sugar.  Add in eggs & vanilla.
  2. In separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, & salt.  Gradually add to butter mixture.  Spread in greased 9x13 pan.
  3. Bake at 350°F for 18-20 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle with marshallows as soon as pan comes out of the over.  Use a spoon dipped in water to spread.  Cool completely.
  5. In saucepan, melt chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter.  Remove from heat and stir in rice krispies.  Spread over top of marshallows.  Cool completely.
  6. Cut into squares and try to eat only one.
