Corn Chowder

A recipe for a soup that you can cook up without too much trouble.


Ingredients


  • 1/2 lb bacon
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery leaves
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 8 cups milk
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 3 cans cream corn (15 oz each)
  • 3 medium potatoes, skinned and cut into 1/2 pieces
  • Parsley
  • Paprika

Directions


  1. Cook bacon until crispy.  Drain on paper towel.  Break into small pieces.
  2. Place six tbsp bacon grease into large pot.  Add onions and celery.  Cook over medium heat until tender, stirring occasionally.  Stir in flour.  Cook another 2-3 minutes.  Remove from heat.
  3. Stir in milk.  Heat until simmering, stirring constantly.
  4. Add bacon, pepper, corn, and potatoes.  Continue simmering over low heat.
  5. Serve and top with parsley & paprika.
